Matrix Shards
As you go on your travels you may find datacrons on various planets.  Most will give you a permanent statistic upgrade like Willpower+4 but some will give you colored matrix shards.  There are 4 colors: red, green, blue and yellow and there are a limited number of each like 1-3.  As a Sith you can enter a cave near the entrance to the Dark Temple on Dromund Kaas.

At the back of the cave are 3 shard terminals.  When you interact with one it will ask you to pick a color.  You do that for each of the 3 terminals and then walk over to the big alter in the middle of the room and interact with that.  Say yes on the confirmation that pops up and you end up with a shiny new custom datacron relic.

Now open your character panel and equip it to one of the 2 relic slots.  Your new relic will have some nice stats like mine made from Blue Red Red which gives me Endurance+33, Willpower+29 as long as it is equipped.

I noticed that the shards did not leave my inventory until after I picked up the datacron.  While it was still sitting on the alter after combining the shards they were still in my inventory.  Not sure what happens if you leave the cave without picking up the datacron.

It's well worth putting one together when you hit level 32 or above as it's a free stats boost.  You can buy a "Disassembler Core" which you can buy from a couple of vendors for 8000 credits.  You use that in the same cave you create the matrix.  There's a terminal for it on the side wall.  I will probably do that when I reach level 50 so I can make an even more powerful datacron.

The wiki page here has a list of all the known combinations and they have dates next to them so you can see when they were last verified.

These datacrons have no stats impact unless they are equiped in one of the 2 relic slots.  You don't get the boost if you leave it on the Missions tab of your inventory, which is where it is if not equiped.  Other relics let you right click them to activate a time based power like "Increase Defense Rating by 120 for 20 seconds".  The matrix shard datacrons do not.  They are solely passive.

So there you go.  Free stats boost with just a little elbow work  :winner

Boost Your Social Points
You get social points for taking part in conversations as part of a group.  It can be quite hard to do when a lot of people quit the group as soon as the mission is complete but before you've all returned to the person that gave you the mission for the final debriefing.  For me, this means I'm a level 42 Sith Assassin with a social score or about 200!  :(

That means I can't buy some of the funky items from Social Vendors because I don't have a high enough social score to use the items I want.

An easy fix is to play the Black Talon flashpoint which starts at Imperial Fleet.  There is loads of talking all through that mission.  You can press spacebar to skip the dialogue and jump straight to the choices.  You get more social points when you have more people in the group.  Here's how the scoring goes:

4 people in the group
8 Social Points - You win a conversation roll and your character speaks during the dialogue.
4 Social Points - You don't win the conversation roll and somebody else speaks during the dialogue.

3 people in the group
6 Social Points - You win a conversation roll ...
3 Social Points - You don't win the conversation roll ...

2 people in the group
4 Social Points - You win a conversation roll ...
2 Social Points - You don't win the conversation roll ...

It's a simple multiplier, if you win you get "2x the number of people in the group", if you lose then you get 1x.  Those points are "per dialogue choice" so you can make over 50 social points from a single conversation if you keep winning the roll.

I've come out of Black Talon with 150+ Social Points for a single run on normal mode.  On normal mode a lvl 42 Sith Assassin just walks over the enemy.  Most of them are 1 shot kills.  I ran a group of lvl11 people through the whole thing in about 4 minutes.  The flashpoint is repeatable so you can just keep doing it back to back.  Theoretically you can make upwards of 1500 Social Points in less than an hour if you play with like-minded people i.e. ones that want to increase their social score and don't want to sit there listening to each conversation fully.

Great hints, Nortic!

I am, however, slightly disturbed by the idea of a sociable Sith Assassin... :scared

Location, location, location!
An easy way to get XP is to simply explore.  When you open the world map you can see the areas you have not explored yet displayed as empty hexagons.  If you open you Mission Log->Codex tab->Planets and then pick the name of the planet you are on you can see a count of the Locations to get an idea of how many you have left.  So for Hoth, there are 11 locations.  Each time you "discover" a location you get around 1200 XP points.  On Hoth for me, they seemed to be either 1201, 1214 or 1246.  So you can make roughly 13706 XP points on Hoth just by driving around.  You also get 210 legacy points for each location so that's a total of 2310 legacy points for Hoth.  Easy!

PVP Warzones  :pistols
You can enter these by clicking the little Imperial or Republic logo to the bottom right of the minimap.  I won't cover what they are about as you can find that out in-game but I will tell you what you get out of it.  You get XP, legacy points, credits and valour.  The last one I did gave me:

Duration: Hutt Ball - 15 minutes
Legacy Points: 3895
Experience Points: 21810
Credits: 4700
Valour: Somewhere between 500-1000

:stupid

Since 1.1 WZ:s are actually playable even for chars sub 50. I enjoyed taking part in several matches yesterday. As always, Imps won 80% of the games, but fights were longer, and you could actually manage to do some stuff without getting roflstomped by a lvl 50 Warmaster in full PvP-gear as soon as you ventured outside the spawn point.

That's odd, normaly the Republic side always wins when I do it.  Not enough ppl throwing the ball in Hutt Ball and the turrets are always super well camped.  Layout is always the same in the turret one, we take the one at the back straight away and hold it the entire time whilst the republic always takes the center and front most turret and holds those.  Now I just always go for the kill and ignore the turret.  Figure if I focus on killing them then they can't take any more turrets ^_^

What does piss me off is that I've noticed Bounty Hunters and Troopers seem able to kill me with 2-3 shots even when I'm fully buffed.  Quite frustrating.

Never give up, never surrender!
So sometimes you just can't get any people to join you on a Heroic quest and when you try and solo it you just get your ass kicked.  This happened to me more than a few times.  One such time was on Nar Shaddaa with the "Build a Better Beast" quest.  I tried to solo it and those lvl31 13k health republic troops kept killing me before I could even get into the complex.

What to do?  Simple, open the mission log, select the mission and then choose Untrack.  Why do that?  Because you can come back to it later.  So now, I'm a lvl47 Sith Assassin.  I've just solo'd the quest with Khem Val.  Even the 86k bosses are doing virtually no damage at all.  The downside is you get no XP for killing things and only 5 XP when the mission is over and you report in, the bright side is you get to clear the mission and you do get some affection points for your companion.  This only works with low level missions.  In the mission log next to the mission name you can see the level so for "Building a Better Beast" it says "Level 31".  So knowing that you can pretty sure a lvl47 character is going to have a pretty easy time ^_^

Ha!  11 posts above this one - "Boost Your Social Points", the gist of it is simply to run the Black Talon flash point from Imperial Fleet to get 150+ social points per run with 3 other people.  I worked out that you can get to Social 10 by running through it about 60 times.
