Jag har misstänkt att detta skulle hända förr eller senare, men det är trist att se farhågorna besannas.

I'm sure you can appreciate that at this point, reading this thread, no one with a lick of sense would expect that we'll be posting in it again. Allow me to engage in one of my "famous eye-rollings" and then adopt a resounding silence.

To the moderators who are trying -- we thank you. But we're out. This isn't me, this is all of us who might look to threads like this for sensible commentary about the updates. Valuable insight may be here, but we're no longer going to give 210% to wade through the garbage to find it.

You've tried, mods. We've tried, too. But it's hopeless until people realize they are not entitled to what is going on in this thread. The endless insults. The ceaseless off-topic "let's talk about the person, not the game." The ridiculous, childish comments without a single grain of fact.

There is no license to abuse, here.
There is no permission to insult, here.
No one has an all-clear to libel, here, nor to state as fact your fantastical and ridiculous untruths.
You may think so -- but you are wrong. Don't believe for a minute that any member of the dev team, or the dev team as a whole, needs to take what's being dished out here.

We don't.

We won't.

The shame is, you've killed it for the rest. And keep in mind, those of you--so many of you--who want to have a decent discussion may well have contributed by your very passivity. For your failure to alert the mods to what was going on, to add your voice to the "We just want to talk about the game" list allowed this to get to its current unacceptable state. Don't for a minute blame us -- the excesses of this community are the responsibility of this community.

Jag förmodar att Gaile fortfarande kommer att agera som ANet's budbärare på forumen, men att hon (och andra inom deras CR) inte längre kommer att interagera med community'n som de tidigare har gjort. Det är en skam för hela GWO-communityn som sådan, att man inte tagit i med hårdhandskarna mot "proffs-trollen" på forumet.

Har inte hängt med ute på GW's forum på länge, det enda jag brukade besöka var GW Onlines Ranger forum.

Det är dock lite surt när hon skriver:

Känns som att alla blir kallade skithögar, mer eller mindre. Dålig stil.

Vilka forum gäller detta egentligen? Vart har de blivit utsatta för sådana gräsliga påhopp att de klipper banden?

Tja, som jag förstod det var det inte riktat till något speciellt forum, utan GW-forum i allmänhet, däribland gwonline. Men jag håller med. "Alla som inte yttryckligen är med oss är mot oss" känns lite hårt.

Sant att ANet's uttalande är i Bush-aktigaste laget, men jag förmodar att de med detta också vill sätta ned foten och markera att de inte godtar vilket uppförande som helst från communityn. Vad jag förstår har både GWO och Guru haft problem med vad jag kallar för "proffs-troll"; folk som gör sitt bästa för att förgifta stämningen på forumen och piska upp en hatstämning mot ANet. Communityn har varit dålig på att ta i med hårdhandskarna mot dessa.

Det är nog förvisso rätt svårt att göra något konkret också, eftersom dessa människor är duktiga på att hålla sig till reglerna, men att samtidigt utnyttja dem till max.
