Screw making the server harc core compliant.  Let's just make it the best setup we ourselves like.

 

I don't like some of the settings on a pure HC server, but no worries - we have two servers! Just make one into a HC server by EA standards, and make the other one a FUN server!

Server #2 (aka Mr Mouses server) is softcore only and is staying like that which is why we're trying to decide how to run the second one.

There is really no point in having a strict hardcore server besides being listed in the search results when somebody ticks only the Hardcore option.  The default filter set is nothing is ticked which means the server is still listed in the global results as well as if they choose Custom.

Played on several HC servers that have the killcam ON. Found em thru the browser with only the HC switch on. Thats strange!

And can you please stop fiddling and meddling with the settings, who ever you are? Someone enabled 3d spotting on OG1.

My vote is we revoke all admin rights, and start over, if people can't handle it responsibly, and go in and change settings just because they can.

Actually, the only ones who have complete admin rights are us who have direct access to the OG server.

Admins should still be able to change all the settings but they need approval.

That's what the point of this thread is, come up with some server settings that the majority like and then we set it and leave it like that.

3D spotting is ace, it's way harder to spot jets, helos and tanks without it, plus you can't mark enemy infantry if it is turned off.

I personaly would love it if you could spot vehicles but not infantry. Or if you could decrease the time infantry is spotted/marked.

Just a little sidenote fyi, if OG is planning to start to play competative BF3 some time in the future, that is almost always done in "softcore mode". Just so you know.

You would think it would be the other way around i.e. hardcore with all unlocks.
